Aqua'aba foundation celebrated its 2nd anniversary with a visit to the Osu Castle

Osu castle was built in the 17th century by the Danish and was used by different colonial power as a post for transatlantic slave trade. Later, Osu castle played an important role for Ghana's push for independence from the British. It serves as a space for reflection on the past and the progress made since those times.

The kids enjoyed the visit to the castle; they learnt a lot about Ghana's past, also thanks to an incredible guide, who brought the rich history of the site to life. The visit was followed by a home-cooked meal for all of them.

WHAT WE DO>

The Aqua'aba Foundation focuses on financially underprivileged children in Ghana, offering them valuable swimming lessons. This life-skill provides empowerment, health benefits, and significantly reduces the risk of drowning. Currently, 25 active participants benefit from the foundation's program, receiving dedicated care and attention during their involvement. The program not only imparts a vital life skill but also serves as a meaningful after-school activity, effectively keeping these children away from the streets.
